Last night, Monday the 8th of August, the Casino Beef Week Promotions Committee Incorporated hosted their Annual General Meeting. The Annual General Meeting was an opportunity for all our members to get an update on the status of the 2022 Event, and to start working towards the 2023 Casino Beef Week.
At the meeting, all committee positions were up for election and a new committee was formed with a mixture of new and returning faces. The new committee for 2022/23 are as follows: President, Brody Lisha; Vice-President, Mr Grant Shedden; Treasurer, Mr Tony Dean; Secretary, Ms Georgie King; Committee Members, Mr Stuart George, Cherie Holdsworth, and Mrs Janelle Stenner.
The new committee is excited to work with members, event partners, and the local community to reinvigorate Casino Beef Week and planning has already started on new event ideas and opportunities to celebrate our local industries, especially our beef producers and related fields.
At the meeting, outgoing president, Mr Frank McKey was thanked for his work over the last 4 years, keeping Beef Week going through recent years. The committee would also like to thank other outgoing members; Mrs Lyn McKey and Ms Raelene Bodsworth.
The committee’s new president Brody Lisha has been a member of the committee since 2018 serving both as a general member and as the treasurer of the committee for two years. Brody is only 31 Years of age and is one of the youngest presidents Beef Week has had and is looking forward to working with the new look committee.
“I am honoured to have been selected by the members of the association to lead Casino Beef Week over the next 12 months, planning is now well underway for a bigger and more engaging Beef Week in 2023.” Said Brody
“I would like to welcome the new members to the committee, Georgie King, Cherie Holdsworth, and Janelle Stenner who will bring a wealth of experience from their lives to bring fresh ideas to the keystone event” He continued.
Local community members who would like to get involved with Casino Beef Week should sign up at the Casino Beef Week Office at 86 Walker St, Casino. Member meetings will occur throughout the year to keep members updated and involved with the planning for the 2023 Casino Beef Week.
