The Casino Food Co-op Cattle Competitions is now a 4-day Cattle Spectacular. Enabling us to showcase the Beef Industry in the Australian Beef Capital for The Casino Food Co-op Casino Beef Week.
The biggest change this year is the 4-day Cattle Spectacular moving the Steer Show and Auctions to Wednesday afternoon, offering the ability to showcase their highest quality Steers and allowing them to meet the National MSA Framework. Another wonderful advantage is that the public will have a 2nd opportunity to see the cattle down in the CBD, one of the highlights of the entire 11-day festival.
The Juniors and Steer Shows are on Wednesday are going to be fantastic to see, and will provide a whole new atmosphere to Barker St on Wednesday the 25th of May from approximately 1 pm until the early hours of the evening. Starting with Junior Judging and Paraders, the youth of our region will be able to showcase the Steers they have been raising as well as have an excellent learning experience in the Junior Judging Competition. This will be followed by the main event, showing off over 30 Led Steers from as far west as Wilsons Downfall and all the way south to Maclean.
All our Casino Stock and Station agents will be there on Wednesday the 25th to host the first Casino Twilight Steer Auction, where the steers will once again enter the ring to be auctioned off by carcase weight. Auctioneers include George & Fuhrmann, Ramsey & Bulmer, Ray White Rural Casino and T&W McCormack

The 4 Day Cattle Spectacular starts with Steer Show and Junior Competitions on Wednesday the 25th of May, the Department of Primary Industry Youth Education Day on Thursday, the Carcass Judging, and Food Co-op tour on Friday and then finishing off with our Stud Show on Saturday as part of The Casino Over 50’s Lifestyle Village Super Saturday.
This competition is one of the event’s favourite competitions over the 11-day festival.
The Casino Food Co-op and Casino Beef Week are excited about the opportunity for producers to showcase their Steers and Studs and be in the running for some amazing prize money.
The entire team of Casino Beef Week is proud to say that the cattle spectacular is the biggest cattle event held in the 40 years of Casino Beef Week. The most exciting part is that with the new support we have been able to raise the prize money to $25,000 throughout the cattle event.
Rest assured that we will still have cattle on Saturday 28th May in the CBD. With our new sponsor, Riverina Stockfeed, we are calling on all our region’s Stud breeders to get involved and show off what our region has to offer. With nearly twice as much prize money available in the Stud Show than in previous years, Committee Member Tony Dean says “Saturday is the opportunity for our stud breeders to take centre stage and showcase their studs and breeds to the world.”
