2024 Casino Beef Week Youth Camp Program

The program at the 2024 Casino Beef Week Youth Camp, is designed to immerse participants in the world of the cattle industry. Through a mix of educational and engaging activities, attendees will gain first-hand experience and knowledge about various aspects of the industry, while also developing personal skills and enjoying fun, industry-related activities.

Industry Careers:

Interactive talks and demonstrations by cattle industry professionals, covering various roles from farm management to veterinary services.

Career guidance sessions detailing pathways and qualifications needed for different careers within the cattle industry.

Industry Experience:

Hands-on workshops on cattle handling, feeding, and care, providing practical skills essential in the cattle industry.

Demonstrations of the latest technology and tools used in cattle farming, including a look at sustainable practices.

Auctioneering Skills:

Workshops on the fundamentals of cattle auctioneering, including voice projection, bid calling, and salesmanship.

Practice sessions in a mock auction setting, allowing participants to try out their auctioneering skills in a realistic environment.

Self Development:

Team-building exercises and leadership workshops tailored to the context of the cattle industry.

Sessions on effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making in the context of cattle industry scenarios.

Celebrating Dedication to the Beef Industry

At this year’s Casino Beef Week Youth Camp, we are excited to introduce the School Champion Prize, a special recognition for the school group that exemplifies an outstanding commitment to the beef industry throughout the entire weekend.

Criteria for the Prize:

Demonstrating teamwork and collaboration as a group.

Active participation in all camp activities, workshops, and sessions.

Showcasing a keen interest and understanding of the beef industry.

Exhibiting leadership, innovation, and enthusiasm in all tasks.

How to Compete: School groups are automatically entered into the competition upon their registration for the camp. Throughout the weekend, our team will observe and interact with each group, assessing their engagement, teamwork, and overall spirit.

Join the Challenge: We encourage school groups to come with enthusiasm and a readiness to delve into the world of the beef industry. This is your chance to shine as a team and be recognized for your passion and commitment. Good luck to all schools - let's make this a competition to remember!

What is the age requirement for the Youth Camp?

The camp is designed for youth aged 7-18 Years Old (As of the 4th of April 2024)

Where is the camp located?

The camp will be held at the Casino Showgrounds

What type of activities will be included in the camp?

Activities include industry career workshops, hands-on cattle handling experiences, auctioneering skills training, self-development sessions, and fun, industry-related games and competitions.

What are the accommodation arrangements and supervision requirements for camping at the site?

Camping is available on-site for participants and their families. However, it's important to note that all participants choosing to camp must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian throughout the duration of their stay, as Casino Beef Week does not provide overnight supervision for campers. Participants and their guardians are responsible for bringing their own camping gear.

What should participants bring to the camp?

A detailed list will be provided upon registration, but essentials include comfortable clothing, sturdy footwear, personal toiletries, and any necessary medications.

Are meals provided at the camp?

Yes, all meals are provided to participants. We cater to various dietary needs; please inform us of any dietary restrictions during registration.

Parents may pre-order meals for themselves if they plan to stay on site. 

There will be the option to purchase additional meals during the Final Parade day and Cattle Show for visitors. 

What are the safety measures in place?

The camp prioritizes safety with trained staff, first aid facilities, and structured protocols for all activities. A detailed safety plan is available upon request.

How can I register for the camp, and what are the fees?

Registrations will open at the start of February 2024. The fee is $125 Per Partipants.
Parents who are registering more then 1 child per family may register the second and subsequent children for $100
School Groups are NOT eligigble for 2nd Child Discount
