THURSDAY 24th of NOVEMBER 2023, Casino NSW –
The Casino Beef Week Promotions Committee Inc hosted its annual Christmas party on the 24th of November 2022 with some exciting news surrounding the 2023 Event. From announcing new events to recommitting The Casino Food Co-op as their principal partner, there is a lot of excitement surrounding The Casino Food Co-op Casino Beef Week 2023.
Beef Week President, Mr Brody Lisha was joined by the Chairman of The Casino Food Co-op Mr John Secombe to announce that The Casino Food Co-op would be celebrating its 10th year as naming sponsor for the event and recommitting to a further three years of support. This is to coincide with the recommitment by the Federal Department of Agriculture to support Casino Beef Week for a three-year period.
Mr Brody Lisha said “We couldn’t be prouder to have The Casino Food Co-Op back as our principal partner, their long-standing commitment to our regions Beef Industry is a testament to the power of locally owned co-operatives and the community spirit that is Casino”
Following the announcement, Brody Lisha announced the theme for 2023 is ‘Stars of the Screen’ “… we are really excited to see what the community comes up with. With such a wide range of possibilities, I am sure we will see lots of fantastic dress-ups and float entries,” continued Brody.
Brody then announced the first three major changes happening in 2023 but promised more was on the way.
To begin, Brody reminded everyone about the Maloney Livestock Carriers and Riverina Stock Feeds Potential Show Steer Sale is on December 7th at NRLX following their regular prime sale. Being our first annual Potential Show Steer Sale, Casino Beef Week Promotions Committee Inc has been working alongside our local auctioneers and NRLX to produce a show with a large number of quality steers available for purchase.
The next major change was an extension of the Beef Week Queen and Ambassador Program to include additional workshops and activities for all entrants in the lead up of Beef Week, and for the first time, the training program will be open to all genders, however, a Beef Week Queen will still be crowned from the female entrants, so don’t worry we are keeping the queen.
The final exciting change was the addition of the Calmview Charolais Junior Cattle Weekend to assist our local and visiting schools in preparation for Casino Beef Week. Tony Dean, Treasurer of Casino Beef Week Promotions Committee Inc said “The Calmview Charolais Junior Cattle Weekend is going to be a great addition to our 100-day launch program and will see school students from across the state visit Casino in March to learn about the various aspects of the cattle industry with a focus on showing their best steers at local shows”
Finally, Brody announced that even more exciting changes are coming in 2023, but left us all on the edge of our seats, with further announcements being made in the new year. “There are new and returning events coming in 2023 and we can’t wait to share it with you all at our 100-day launch in February” Brody concluded.
The Casino Food Co-op Casino Beef Week 2023 will run from the 20th-30th of May 2023 in Casino, Northern Rivers, NSW and will involve the entire town of Casino.
