Beef Week secures NSW Government Funding

Beef Week Announcement

Casino Beef Week’s grant application made under the NSW Government’s 2018 Flagship Event Fund has been successful, which was announced by Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis on Tuesday 20 February in Casino NSW.

A triennial grant of $30,000 per year has been secured for the Casino Beef Week festival to assist with event marketing activities that contribute to the unique character of tourism regions of NSW. The aim is to contribute towards the NSW Government’s goal to double overnight visitor expenditure in NSW by 2020.

“Today marks an important milestone for not only Casino but the entire Richmond Valley and North Coast region. Together we are writing Beef Week history with having obtained support from both the NSW Government today and the Federal Government back in May 2017,” said Casino Beef Week President Stuart George.

“Thousands of visitors flock to the Richmond Valley for our 11-day long celebration of the Australian beef industry and rural life every year, during the last week of May.

“We are very excited to be working closely with the NSW Government and Destination NSW to promote our annual festival and beautiful region to a bigger audience, both on a national and international level.

“The NSW Government’s aim aligns with the new Casino Beef Week strategic plan 2018-2020, which was launched last Thursday. The strategic plan is a phased approach over three years to pursue new avenues to promote the Australian beef industry domestically and internationally focussing on strategic marketing and world-class event experiences.

“It is a very exciting time for Casino Beef Week having obtained support from the Federal and State Government. This will enable us to drive the festival strategy and deliver our strategic marketing plan to position Casino Beef Week for another thirty years,” Mr George concluded.

This year’s Casino Beef Week festival will be taking place from 19 - 29 May with tickets on sale and registrations opening very soon.
