Georgia Owen

Hi, my name is Georgia Owen. I am 20 years old and a barista at a local cafe here in Casino. Being a local and growing up with Beef Week as a kid made me love this time of year. I love how the whole town comes together to celebrate and have a little fun around cattle, which may seem like an odd thing to do until you have experienced it for yourself. I enjoy and have been involved in campdrafts and rodeos for as long as I can remember, and cattle is a massive part of that world. It’s great to see that everyone can get to enjoy the cattle and see all the different breeds without having to come from the same background. The breed of cattle that I have chosen to represent is Murray Grey. I have entered this year's Beef Week Queen Program to challenge myself, step out of my comfort zone and get to know and learn more about the community. Year after year I watched the entrants gain confidence and a love for our community and I knew that one day I wanted to be a part of that. I’m so excited for the journey ahead alongside such an amazing group of young women, and I am eager to see how this experience will help us all grow.
